[She waits about a day. And then she storms up, trying to exude righteous irritation rather than bone-deep weariness.

It doesn't work very well. Her feet drag.]

Taylor, I want you to know, I'm prepared to forgive you for being childish because, well, you're young!

[Taylor looks up from what she's writing (with a crayon because fork this ship), her expression flat.]

Okay.

Taylor, for god's sake. Crazy things are going down; the ship is falling apart! We have to stick together!

[She flips her pages over, text down before folding her hands across them.]

To do what?

Um, to protect and keep an eye on each other? Mostly for me to protect and keep an eye on you, of course.

What are you writing?

You threatened me.

I didn't threaten you!

[She crosses her arms, defensively.]

I-- I barely threatened you, and I didn't do it. I even gave you your stupid file.

Thank you for the file. But I can't trust you with that. [She tilts her head at Misty's wristband.]

... So, would you trust me if I took it off?

[That's a bit of a surprise as an offer, and Taylor's brows go up, the first real expression.]

It'd be a start.

[Misty studies Taylor's face, and after a moment's hesitation, unclips the wearable and slides it into her sweater pocket.]

[She tilts her head at her.]

You still have it. You're still one argument away from using it.

[Taylor holds out a hand, open.]

... Wait, seriously? How can I trust you to give it back?

[She drops the hand, tapping her crayon against the table quietly.]

So we don't trust each other. It's good that's clear.
