She's sitting on her desk, putting her hair in braids for sleeping, chasing the last of the youngest gu out of it as she does so. Her hands stop a moment and she glances at him.
"What do you want?" he laughs in relief, folding a shirt, refolding it, and then bunching it up into a ball and throwing it in the corner with the others. He never got the hang of folding.
She uses two fingers to shoot a spare hair elastic at him, with a bit of smile, and then relocates to her side of the bed, checking that the red crystal is where it belongs, inside her pillowcase. It's been helping - there have been a lot fewer night disturbances of late.
"You're going to be bored with just Dad for a few days, he doesn't complain about anything."
"I know," he groans, dodging the hairtie and finding it, putting his hair into a playful palm tree on top of his head. "But it's a fucking city. I'm going to steal so much shit."
She nods, picking through the little selection she has out from the library, a messy pile beside the bed. "We finished that... what about The Little Prince? I've never read it."
"No, that's not what I meant. But I don't think there's a way back to the person who'd never... done that." She reaches up for one of his hands, wrapping hers just lightly around his wrist.

"Hey. Dad wants to take a trip home for a couple of days and he's asked me to go with him. I - told him that I'd talk about it with you."

"Bring me back a souvenir."
Promise to come back, she means.

"Want me to bring you back a boyfriend?"

He sits on the bed finally, making sure his little stuffed cat creature is under his pillow. "What the fuck is a shirt folder?"

"I don't know. I feel like I should be there. I don't know what's left."

"I did it in a dream, the other night. Ordered someone and pulled a string and they obeyed."
