Me too. Danny Hebert’s a good guy, and I love him. But he wasn’t the father I needed, growing up the way I did. Kaz healed a lot in me. Just being here.
I got to reconnect with Danny after I graduated the first time - he supported me through my trial, and the time I spent in jail - but that was more friendly than parental. Kazuma's my dad in all the ways that matter now. I'll live near him when I leave here.

Yeah... I'll always be grateful for how much my dad taught me about starship systems. [As in, how to exploit them.] He's honestly brilliant with them, and it was one of the few sciency things I could really dig into and learn about without my parents thinking it was a waste of time.
But, well... he's a man. And I was the Tendi Prime. Technically I outranked him, even as a child? It... made things kind of complicated.
