[She has the look and tone of someone who is keeping calm only through sheer force of will and internally is actually a gibbering panicked mess.]
So...
You're the one who produces the insect meal for us. Do you happen to know anything about the giant fucking mosquitos flying around, or is that an Admiral sort of problem?
[They didn't actually discuss Taylor's powers, just the insect meal.]
What's up is that I have a bloodborne zombie virus too large to be carried by normal mosquitos, but which has somehow developed an insect vector recently and is killing millions back home. If I had to take a wild guess, the culprit is genetically modified enlarged mosquitos.
I would really like to not cause... you know. That. Here.
... Aah, yeah, I can see how that would be concerning.
Two points that might help - they're under constant control. That's my power, I control bugs. I use the mosquitos to keep an eye on things. The control persists while I'm asleep or dead, so long as they have a set task. Second factor, I only let males out of my cabin, and they don't drink blood, so even if that control breaks, the only bloodsuckers are in a glass tank in my cabin on deck four, behind three layers of doors.

Yeah, they're mine. Any bug you see aboard is mine. What's up?

It's what I came here to fix.

That's... somewhat reassuring.
Although, just wondering, have you seen Jurassic Park?

Yep. One of my favorites, a classic.
Any interest in movie night? [She could just explain the reference, but also, movie night. Maggie loves movie nights.]

And I can put the mosquitoes away elsewhere.

I'm pretty much always good with company. Anything you want me to bring, besides the movie?
[Yes, please do put the mosquitos away elsewhere, thanks.]
no subject
Yeah, we don't have any popcorn.
no subject
Well that won't do. I'll be over soon with plenty of popcorn.
How much company should I be planning for?
no subject
No bee or shellfish allergies?
