It's mostly a numbers thing. Before I got here, the Barge had a few hives of bees, and the usual little moths and spiders and flies that always live around humans.

Then I came. And got people to give me wasps and hornets and very large spiders. And now I've been breeding everything for two years. So now we have a few... thousand times the population of bugs this place should have. Which is fine, with them all under control. No one's getting stung, they're not eating the food or infesting people's cabins.

[Which is not at all Taylor's problem with Zero, but easier to talk about.]
